yogarupa and thincrust

what a lovely day in chicago, finally. the sun shined so brightly as i ran ran *ran* around our city of big shoulders, going from teaching yoga to two auditions to interviewing a band to checking in on an office furniture promotion i helped manage. just another miapark day.

here is an image of yogarupa, rod stryker. the prana teacher training he led as amazing. i finally feel like i'm starting to soak more & more of the information he shares into my bones, into my soul. it's hard not to sound so dang SERIOUS when it comes to yoga talk, but this process is profound. really, really deep and magical. yogarupa isn't a magician, but he is a master of sharing this ancient knowledge with such ease and grace. we're so fortunate to be able to study with him. we have food and shelter. we have sound enough minds and bodies. our lives are safe and we can order pizza delivered right to our door anytime. i hope to live up to the quality of these teachings by practicing and transmitting them every day. and by tipping the pizza delivery guy more next time.

from rod, i received an additional practice to add to my existing mantra & i'm excited to practice it. i like memorizing information with intentioin. like, not just learning a phone number from dialing it so many times (who does that anymore?), but to study something with the desire to learn it and learn it so well that the knowledge becomes as familiar and intimate as breath. nice.
