food drive and poetry

i've never seriously written poetry. i remember plenty of angsty periods of trying my hand at prose and sometimes writing things that moved me. whether they moved anyone else, i don't know. if it did move them, it may have moved them away from me. today i emailed haikus i wrote for a ticket give away contest. here they are, the theme is autumn:

her name, november
texas memories of love
brown and underage

morning thunderstorm
dry leaves now wet, still grounded
all day gray sky smiles

i can't remember if haikus are allowed to have commas. eh, i comma-ed them. ah well. and, drum roll please (i have to ask for one because my drum roll kinda sucks)...a poster for our new rock show!
thanks for another great poster, steve walters. it's a food drive. maybe we'll write haikus about the hungry to recite. but then you may not come. eh, come anyway. it's for a great cause!
