parayoga® test: day one

this amazing photo of our yoga teacher, rod stryker, by ana bartlett from the miami yoga journal convention in november, 2011.

day one of the parayoga (registered mark goes here) level one test! i joke about the registered mark because it's odd to brand yoga, but in this day and age, branding is a way to make a living and i want my yoga teacher to thrive in order to teach and fulfill his dharma.

anyway, it's important for me to be certified in this lineage because i want to fully represent the kind of yoga i practice and teach. i'm not very rebellious when it comes to what i really want. i shop at whole foods even though it's trendy and expensive. i buy aveda face products even though it's trendy and expensive. and i'm becoming a certified parayoga (r in a circle) yoga teacher...not because it's trendy or expensive (have you seen how much aadil palkhivala charges for his trainings?), but because i want to honor the teachings and my teacher by making it legit, yo.

also, i like having deadlines and assignments, being the project oriented person that i am. i like writing book reports and researching answers to these open book test questions. i'm kinda stressed about this process, but here i go.

day one, in the can. i worked over 2.5 hours on the test. i can totally do this. i basically know the answers to all (yes, i think all!) of the questions, but it's nice having the option to research the answers so i can explain them better.

haven't found my voice answering the questions, yet, but i will. i'm just writing info right now. i'll personalize the answers soon enough. i have until 12/11 to submit the answers. end of day one. ding!
